Herpetogramma licarsisalis
Sod webworms are caterpillars that feed on turfgrass blades at night, leaving behind chewed, brown patches. They hide in silk-lined tunnels in the thatch during the day. Infestations are most severe in late summer and autumn. Natural predators, proper mowing, and insecticidal treatments can reduce sod webworm populations.
