Gryllotalpidae family
Mole crickets are burrowing insects that damage turf by tunneling through the soil, disrupting roots, and feeding on grass. They cause uneven ground surfaces and dead patches in warm, sandy soils. Infestations are noticeable in spring and summer. Management includes using soapy water flushes to detect crickets and applying biological or chemical controls.
