
Hypochaeris radicata
Often mistaken for dandelion, catsear has deeply lobed, rough-textured leaves and bright yellow flowers. It spreads via wind-dispersed seeds and thrives in compacted, nutrient-poor soils. Its deep taproot makes it difficult to remove manually. Effective management includes regular mowing, aeration, and application of broadleaf herbicides.
