African Love Grass is a highly invasive, drought-tolerant perennial grass that thrives in sandy and low-nutrient soils. It has fine, wiry leaves and forms dense, unpalatable clumps. The grass spreads through seeds and rhizomes, making it difficult to control in sports turf. Its ability to dominate poor soils often reduces the quality of turfgrass. Management includes frequent mowing, improving soil fertility, and using selective herbicides.
